Perched on Lake Pend Oreille, The Newport Plums Estate is a landmark estate home which is walking distance from Sandpoint’s downtown shops, restaurants and the beach.  Lodging at this remarkable lake-side and pool house enables families and groups of friends to make remarkable memories in amazing Sandpoint, Idaho.


Both the main and carriage houses are available for short-term vacation rentals.  The main house can accommodate up to 18 overnight guests, and the carriage house can accommodate a couple. The main house has 5 bedrooms, 5 full baths, and 2 half baths and is approximately 7,400 square feet.  The two homes sit on a huge 3.5-acre lot which spans approximately five regular city blocks.


Enclosed behind 100-foot plus tall American Arborvitae trees, guests enjoy a completely private setting once they pass through the front gate.


With Lake Pend Oreille providing a picturesque backdrop, the Newport Plums Estate makes for a perfect venue for weddings and other special events.  The expansive living room, dining room and outside deck areas around the pool permits for seating of up to

180-guests.  If you wish to rent the estate for a wedding or event, we can put you in contact with a local company that rents equipment for such events.


Located only 13-miles from the lifts at Schweitzer Mountain, and 8-miles from The Idaho Club golf course, the house is ideally suited for groups coming to either ski Schweitzer Mountain Resort, play golf at The Idaho Club or enjoy any of the other countless outdoor activities available around Sandpoint.


While most restaurants and businesses at Schweitzer Mountain shut down by 7:00 PM, Sandpoint's downtown pubs, restaurants and other nearby businesses stay open longer hours during ski season.  This makes staying in town at the Newport Plums Estate far more desirable and convenient if your family or group will want to dine out past 7:00 PM or just go to local grocery or convenient stores. Also, it is very easy to get back-and-forth to the slopes from the Newport Plums Estate because there is free parking and shuttle service available at the Red Barn Park & Ride area at the base of the Schweitzer Mountain and free shuttle services available from the Red Barn Park to the lift stations.


You will know you have arrived at an extraordinary home right after you pass the opening gates on Pacific Street and pull up to the dramatic porte-cochere entranceway.   The front doors lead to an equally impressive marble entrance way with fifty-plus feet soaring ceilings.


One of the only pool homes in downtown Sandpoint.  The Junior Olympic sized pool is operational and open to guests usually from April through September but may fluctuate due to weather.


There is a very fun ‘50s themed diner and game room that includes a vintage Brunswick pool table, dining booths, antique Pepsi and Coca-Cola machines and coolers, with a serving counter that will make you feel as if you have been transported back in time to another era.  This is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy sodas, root beer floats, and burgers with family and friends.


There is a media room that has a remarkable surround sound system and a 4K projector and screen.  The house includes four other 4k TVs on the first floor including a 75” TV in the game room all of which are on the Dish Network that includes, among other channels, NHL and NFL programming.


The Kitchen is designed for entertaining.  It features a large serving island, stainless-steel appliances including a Viking range, wine cooler, and a Keurig coffee machine.  The kitchen is loaded with kitchenware and other supplies needed for food preparation and service.


There is a spacious living and dining room for groups to gather and enjoy one another’s company.  The living room has a marble fire place, six reclining leather chairs and a matching sofa.  With soaring ceilings throughout the living and dining room and multiple French doors opening to the pool area, this area of the house will make you feel as if you are staying at a 5-star hotel.


The main bedroom suite is 1,000 square feet with a sitting room (with a Keurig coffee machine, of course, to start your morning) a double-sided gas fireplace, and private balcony overlooking the pool.


There are washers and dryers on both the first and second floors of the main house.  The second floor includes a spacious laundry room with a slop sink.


There is a two-story pantry off the kitchen where you can store food and other supplies.  There is also a desktop computer in the pantry area, so guests can get online if needed.


There are several gas fireplaces, a two-story foyer, and plentiful onsite parking available including garage parking for up to three cars.  There is also ample parking available on the circle drive way behind the gated entrance.


Convenient “smart home” features include the ability to play music throughout the home as well as on the pool deck and kitchen-side patio.  There is a state-of-the-art Savant control system that can be accessed by guests through an iPad off of the kitchen area.  The house includes a wireless network that is designed for heavy Internet usage by multiple guests at once.


There are exterior cameras that allow for monitoring of the front and back doors as well as the pool areas which provides for additional security to our guests.  Upon arrival all guests are provided new passcodes to get access to the house which will remain operative during their scheduled stay.


Our guests can obtain discounted tee time fees to play golf at The Idaho Club as the owner of The Newport Plums Estate is also one of the three principal owners and developer of The Idaho Club golf and lake resort.  The Idaho Club features the only Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course in Idaho.  The golf course is an 18-hole masterpiece that’s located in awe inspiring natural setting that includes water and woods and an abundance of wildlife.  If you wish to play The Idaho Club golf course, please let us know.
